Here are photos of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Newton Kansas
The small community of Newton is blessed to have two open Catholic churches with one of them having a school - that your dear blogger here attended.


For reference this is how the sanctuary appeared circa 1994:

Here also is the old tabernacle circa 1994, that was at one point stolen from the parish with the Blessed Sacrament it was later recovered in an alley with the hosts scattered. The thief broke open the Tabernacle with a crow bar- after it was found it was on display for a while for remembrance.

There is also a small chapel built into the parish for daily mass- I remember waking up during the summers to come serve daily mass early in the morning. I wasnt scheudled but I wanted to serve so bad and I knew they had no servers for the small chapel so my Grandfather would take me.


They have a new orthodox priest from Mexico, I was impressed with they way he prayed the Holy sacrifice of the Mass. Please say a prayer for him and this parish.
