On the feast of St. Blaise....
As a kid, I wanted to be a priest, for the longest time whenever anyone asked that was my response. I would “play mass” and I even have vivid memories of blessing peoples throats with the St. Blaise prayer as a kid. Well as Gods will would have it I am a different kind of father than what my child self envisioned.

Everyday when I drive home I listen to the Catholic Radio ( 950 / 930 AM ). In Kansas City we did not have Relevant Radio, but we did have EWTN Radio (1090 AM). I really enjoy listening to Catholic radio and even had Sirius for unintrrupted EWTN and also The Catholic Channel. Officium Divinum
I have been trying to pray the Liturgy of the Hours when I can. Most days I end up just praying Night Prayer and reading the office of Readings. I am blessed to have assisted Fr. Ernie with the Anglican Use in Kansas City - I keep the St. Therese community in my prayers as I am sure they are continuing...

Since moving to the Chicago area in August - and roughly - right after that time returning to the faith, we have been searching for a place to call our home “parish”. I put parish in quotes as the church has deemed based on geographical location as to where we should attend Mass and receive the sacraments.

Baptism of our Fourth Child
Sorry for the delay in posting - but it was Thanksgiving weekend and we traveled back to Kansas City to see our family that we have not really seen since the end of July.
While we were with Family we took the opportunity to have baby Lucia baptized at our old Parish of Old St. Patrick’s In Kansas City MO.

My son - Ambrose Benedict - Was born at home, all natural home birth, but when he arrived he wasn’t breathing and was ill.
I immediately baptized him with Holy Water I had near by - I had prepared it ahead of time in case something like this happened. When I proceeded to do this, it kinda freaked...
