Irish teen in court abortion plea

BBC NEWS | Europe | Irish teen in court abortion plea:
“A 17-year-old pregnant Irish girl is appearing in the High Court in Dublin to press for the right to travel to Britain for an abortion.

Doctors have told the girl that her four-month foetus will not live more than a few days beyond birth.

She is in the care of Ireland’s health service which has issued an order stopping her from going to Britain.

But a lawyer for the girl argued that the health authority had no right to stop her travelling.

Eoghan Fitzsimons told the court that police had responded to a request by the Health Service Executive (HSE) to prevent her leaving the country, saying they could not and would not do so without a court order.

Abortion is illegal in Ireland except where the mother’s life is threatened by a medical condition or suicide.

Thousands of Irish women get around the ban by privately travelling to the UK, where abortion was legalised in 1967, to undergo terminations.”

I am glad to hear that Ireland is sticking to its guns and its laws.
Miracles do happen and maybe just maybe the baby could be rehabilitated and survive.. at the very least the baby could be born long enough to be baptized.

I pray that the Lord shows her his mercy so that she may know that her baby even it is just alive for a short time is a blessing.

Feast of St. Joseph The Worker

Posted on May 1st, 2007 in Uncategorized | No Comments »

O St. Joseph whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the Throne of God, I place in you all my interests and desires. O St. Joseph do assist me by your powerful intercession and obtain for me from your Divine Son all spiritual blessings through Jesus Christ, Our Lord; so that having engaged here below your Heavenly power I may offer my Thanksgiving and Homage to the most Loving of Fathers. O St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms. I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press him in my name and kiss His fine Head for me, and ask Him to return the Kiss when I draw my dying breath. St. Joseph, Patron of departing souls, pray for us.
Amen

Say for nine consecutive mornings for anything you may desire. It has seldom been known to fail.

“Presenting themselves as Catholics when in fact they aren’t”

As Linked to on Heartland Catholic :

Falsifying the message of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the pro-abortion group that mendaciously calls itself “Catholics for a Free Choice” has for the last four years been distributing holy cards in Mexico bearing the following caption in Spanish: “The love of God and of Mary of Guadalupe is larger. For the lives of women, legal and safe abortion.”

This is truly the evil one procuring more souls for Hell. By using the Blessed Mother as a guise for promoting the evil agenda of abortion. The enemy is known to come under the disguise of peace and good, but since satan is THE liar we should not listen to his empty promises.

V. Do you reject Satan?
R. I do.
V. And all his works?
R. I do.
V. And all his empty promises?
R. I do.
V. Do you believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth?
R. I do.

V. Do you believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was born of the Virgin Mary
was crucified, died, and was buried,
rose from the dead,
and is now seated at the right hand of the Father?
R. I do.

Do you believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Catholic church, the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting?
R. I do.

V. God, the all-powerful Father of our Lord Jesus Christ has given us a new birth by water and the Holy Spirit, and forgiven all our sins. May he also keep us faithful to our Lord Jesus Christ for ever and ever.

R. Amen.

Should every couple learn NFP?

Interesting question posted on the Catholic Answers Forums..

Should Every Couple Learn Natural Family Planning?

some examples of why He asks are:

The worry comes from a priest mentioning that a couple that decides to not plan out the children were being “stupid” despite if they felt they were trying to do God’s Will. He mentioned that “the mother would end up with 5 little ones at once” if the couple did not use NFP.

I know it may be harder to learn a method when and if a serious reason arises, but would it be wrong to wait, especially if the couple feels it may be a temptation to be selfish?

Should every couple learn NFP? - Catholic Answers Forums

What I really liked was the answer:

“No one is obliged to use NFP. To be open to life and accept several children in a row is not stupid! Trying to do the Lord’s will is never stupid. People are free to use NFP or not. What they are not free to do is to contracept!

WHAT I LIVE FOR

I live for those who love me, whose hearts are kind and true, For the heaven that smiles above me, And awaits my Spirit too; For the human ties that bind me, for the task by God assigned me, For the bright hopes left behind me, And the good that I can do.

I live to learn their story who’ve suffered for my sake, To emulate their glory, And to follow in their wake; bards, patriots, martyrs, sages, The noble of all ages, Whose deeds crowd history’s pages And time’s great volume make.

I, live to hold communion with all that is divine, To feel there is a union ‘Twixt Nature’s heart and mine; To profit by affliction, Reap truths from fields of fiction, Grow wiser from conviction, And fulfill each grand design.

I live to hail that season, By gifted minds foretold, when men Shall rule by reason, And not alone by gold; when man to man united, And every wrong thing righted, The whole world shall be lighted As Eden was of old.

I live for those Who love me, For those who know me true, For the Heaven that Smiles above me, And awaits my spirit, too; For the cause that lacks assistance, For the wrong that needs resistance, For the future in the distance, And the good that I can do.
